Citrus Fruit Fundraiser Dear Langston Hughes Middle School Band Community, Now is the time of year when we ask for your support to help us provide quality resources which will enable the continued level of excellence that has made the LHMS Music Program what it is today. This spring, the band will be traveling to Busch Gardens in Williamsburg, VA for their spring festival and day trip. As of now, the cost per student is roughly $122. We would like to reduce the cost to at most $80 per student. . To help us do that, the South Lakes High School Band Boosters have invited our band community to join them for the annual citrus fruit fundraiser. It is our hope that the Langston Hughes students will raise enough money through this fundraiser to help reduce the cost of the spring trip. Inside this packet, is a brochure that shows the citrus being sold this year, and the cost of each box. Along with the brochure are five receipts to get students started with selling. The fundraiser will begin on November 5, 2008. The first turn in date for orders is Friday, November 14th and all orders are due NO LATER than November 19, 2008. Please have your student return this envelope with all receipts, payments and the brochure which includes a comprehensive order form which is on the brochure. Please remember when your student makes a sale to: Pick-up of the orders will be on December 13 - more information on time will come later. Each student's family will be responsible for the pick up and delivery of their orders. If people would still like to support the fundraiser, but do not want the citrus fruit, they can purchase the fruit and you could donate it to local food shelters in the area (i.e. Embry Rucker Shelter, etc.) As an incentive to motivate students to sell, we are offering the following prizes for top individual sellers. 1st Place - $100 gift certificate to Best Buy 2nd Place - $50 gift certificate to Target 3rd Place - $25 gift certificate to Barnes and Noble In addition to an individual incentive, the class period that earns the highest profit and sells the most fruit as a class will be rewarded with a donut or pizza party provided by Ms. Bergman. Your help is needed and I hope that each of you will be able to contribute. Thank you, in advance, for your support on behalf of all Langston Hughes Middle School band students. Musically Yours, Jordanna Bergman
